Quitting Alcohol Day 25 Thurs Aug 27

Made it to hot yoga today had to talk myself into it at 5:10am. Walked 2 miles  Went to another yoga class yesterday only 1 hour non heated  Focus was more on relaxation and meditation  still had my muscles quivering though.

Got up went to hot yoga  really wore me out today
Went to see Snarky Puppy  last night awesome musicians  felt a little weird to be in a concert setting and being straight, but not too bad. Made it home by 12:15 so not out too late.

Eli's birthday dinner tonight   Had a couple of shots  didn't do anything for me no sense in that  Anyway no use crying over spilled milk. Had too much to eat Tuna Poke, Fire Roll and split chicken and steak Hibachi with Janet. Next time I eat Hibachi I will go vegetarian.

Hot yoga Day 3  almost got locked out today   running a little late and got there at 5:32am.  She let me in though.  I miss walking.  Hopefully I can start doing yoga in the am and walk in the pm next week

Made it my 2nd day of Hot Yoga    it was much easier that day 1 but still I definitely need a lot of work  especially in the flexibility department.

Quittin Alcohol Day 16 Tues Aug 18

Didn't sleep much last night   I think I woke up every 2 hours    Went to my first HOT yoga class to day....OMG  I sweated sooo much  my bath towel was completely soaked..  Thought I was going to faint a couple of times during the class I guess I need to hydrate more before going in.  Anyway I felt like an old fat guy trying to stand on one leg crossing my knees etc.  I hope It gets better next class. My ankles are really weak.

Quitting Alcohol Day 15 Mon Aug 17

Slept well   Walked 3.4 miles Wonder why if I am cutting my calorie consumption by at least 1000 calories a day and maintaining same exercise level why pounds aren't dropping of more rapidly. That's the only discouraging thing about this whole experience.  Otherwise feeling healthy.

Quitting Alcohol Day 14 Sun Aug 16

Well  hard t believe it's been 2 weeks without a drink. Very surprised that I don't feel any compulsion to drink nor have I felt any signs of withdrawal. My mind seems a bit clearer and definitely feel better throughout the day especially in the mornings. I am excited to see how this all turns out. I keep waiting for some big revelation or some profound change in my health but so far I feel pretty much the same as I did 2 weeks ago. As I watch other people drink, I think about all the money I have spent drinking and wonder if whatever benefits they get from drinking if it is worth the money they spend on it. I guess it's like smoking... a dumb thing to do, but it is enjoyable even though I know it's harmful to my health.  But that's another issue entirely.  I am more than certain I can stop.I am going to write Sept 1 as my official tobacco quitting date.    Waiting and trusting in God.

Decided since I worked until 2am last night to have a day of relaxation today. Slept until 9am. Having grandkids over to swim this afternoon.

Quitting Alcohol Day 10 Wed Aug 12

Slept pretty crappy last night. According to Withings, only slept 4:48 last night  but I think it had to be longer than that.  Walked/Jogged 4 miles. Found myself wanting SOMETHING to make me sleepy, the way I used alcohol to go to sleep.  Wasn't particularly wanting a drink though. I have to be careful not to substitute food or sugar. I must have been used to drinking and eating late at night although the eating seems secondary to me now. Maybe I'll try to keep track of my calories for a few days. I keep waiting to go through some type of withdrawal symptoms but so far shitty sleep is the only thing that bothers me.

Quittting Alcohol Day 2 Wed Aug 4

Woke up felt pretty good. Walked 3.25 miles. I think I'll include a food diary also. Lots of water.  Slept good aside from waking up to pee 3 times in the night. I figured if I was averaging 28.5 oz of vodka daily that works out to around 1,8140 calories a day!! No wonder my liver is working overtime. My Dr. office called and wanted to know if I wanted to schedule a liver sonogram. I told them no    Wait until after my next blood work on Sept 22.

Quitting Alcohol Day 1 Mon Aug 3

Woke up and told myself I can do this. Went for a walk.. only 2 miles.  I had finished off my remaining vodka last night so was still a little fuzzy today. By the way I am also giving up sugar and carbs. Made it through the day ok didn't crave any alcohol, played a gig with an open bar and drank water all night. So far so good.  Had a few issues sleeping. Woke up 3 times but other than that no problems.
