Quitting Alcohol II Sept 19 2018 Day 5

Well, this time my 30 day minimum abstinence from alcohol began upon my return from a Mexican vacation. We went to Cancun on Sept 10 for my birthday and stayed until Sept 14. Five days of drink at least a bottle of tequila a day in addition to whatever I ordered from the bars. Strangely, I never got buzzed. Maybe it was because it was so hot and I was sweating it all out. Dunno. Anyway we both decided when we got back we would go on a hiatus for at least 30 days. Got my lab results back and my glucose was at 101.  Not terrible, but over the threshold of 100 nonetheless. Today is day day 5 of no alcohol. Hasn't been bad this time. I thought  I would have a hard time sleeping, but hasn't been an issue.  Have been having some vivid dreams though.
Reasons:  Not getting enjoyment out of drinking
                 Consuming WAY too many calories  Need to lose weight
                 Compromising health.  Blood sugar and liver enzymes
                 Need to learn how to be happy without being drunk
                 Self esteem is flagging
                 Need to prove to myself that I can do it

Quitting Alcohol Day 25 Thurs Aug 27

Made it to hot yoga today had to talk myself into it at 5:10am. Walked 2 miles  Went to another yoga class yesterday only 1 hour non heated  Focus was more on relaxation and meditation  still had my muscles quivering though.

Got up walked 4 mi   going to check out new yoga place this afternoon

Breakfast  1c  almond/coconut milk

Lunch naval orange

Dinner 6 oz meatloaf   green beans watermelon

Weight 240.1    back to yoga tomorrow :)

Quitting Alochol Day 23 Tues Aug 25

Got up went to hot yoga  really wore me out today
Went to see Snarky Puppy  last night awesome musicians  felt a little weird to be in a concert setting and being straight, but not too bad. Made it home by 12:15 so not out too late.

Breakfast   coconut milk 1 c

Lunch Nectarine, 4 pieces of ham with pickle and cheese

Dinner 4 oz chicken breast okra

Weight 238.5  yeah!!

Eli's birthday dinner tonight   Had a couple of shots  didn't do anything for me no sense in that  Anyway no use crying over spilled milk. Had too much to eat Tuna Poke, Fire Roll and split chicken and steak Hibachi with Janet. Next time I eat Hibachi I will go vegetarian.
